Q: I am healthy. Do I need the Med911 service? Why should I sign up?

A:If your are being treated for a medical emergency, the fact that you have no illnesses, allergies and take no prescription or non- prescription drugs is extremely valuable information for your treating physician. This may allow more aggressive treatment without concern about drug interactions, allergies, or underlying disease.

As your medical history changes, Med911 can be kept up to date, making it simpler for you by eliminating the need to start over each time you see a new doctor.

If you are a caregiver, you can maintain all medical records in one place for your loved one.

Q: Why should I consider having my medical information available 24 hours per day on the internet?

A: Virtually no one knows your medical problems, drug therapy, allergies, etc., better than you. You cannot rely on your spouse/children to know your medical facts when under the pressure of an emergency situation. Your family may guess at your drug therapy, but only you know for sure. Each of your doctors (Family, OBGYN, Cardiologist, etc.) knows what they have prescribed, but may not know your complete prescription therapy. This may very likely apply to the other aspects of your medical history (allergies, long term illnesses, etc.).
